    Just for absolute clarity, First Oak Capital Limited is not a lender. We act as a credit broker, meaning our service is designed to introduce you to a suitable lender from our panel.

    We are authorised and regulated by the FCA for credit-related activities (our reference number is 984955). You can easily verify this by checking the financial services register or by giving the FCA a call on 0800 111 6768.

    Please note that you won't receive formal advice or a specific recommendation from us. We'll ask you some questions to help narrow down the selection of products or options that might be available to your business, but ultimately, you'll need to make your own choice about how you'd like to proceed.

    How can we help?

    We can introduce you to a variety of lenders who might be able to provide a finance facility for your business. Keep in mind, we can only introduce you to these lenders, not lend the money ourselves.

    Do you have to pay us for our help?

    No, we don't charge an arrangement fee to business customers for our finance introductions. Instead, the lender will pay us a commission for making the introduction if a finance agreement is successfully completed.

    In certain specific circumstances, we might charge an administration fee depending on the nature of the finance product and the amount of work involved. If this applies, you will always be made completely aware of it in good time before you accept any agreement.

    Do we provide independent financial advice?

    We don't. We aren't independent financial advisers, so we can't provide you with independent financial advice. If you're ever unsure about a decision, we strongly recommend speaking to your accountant or financial adviser first.

    Commission disclosure

    If you're completely happy with a finance offer and decide to go ahead, we'll receive a commission from the lender. The exact value of this commission is decided by the lender and can vary based on things like the facility size, the type of finance product, and your credit profile.

    Different lenders pay different amounts, based on various commission models. To be completely transparent, we work with a few different models: fixed fee, fixed rate of commission, and a percentage of the amount you borrow.

    Under some of these commission models, the more you pay to the lender, the more we might receive as commission. We'll always let you know about our arrangement with a lender—or any additional administration fee—before you agree to accept a finance agreement.

    For business customers: Some lenders give us the ability to adjust the interest charges up or down, which can affect the amount of commission we receive. This is always factored into the monthly payment and the total amount repayable that you are shown.

    If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service within six months.
